Welcome
Welcome to The Emarginati!
The Emarginati comes from the Italian word meaning “marginalized ones.” Our foundational verse is from our Lord Jesus Christ. In Matthew 5, Jesus teaches: “Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great . . .”
In various places Scripture refers to Christians as “aliens” and as ones having a different citizenship. We name ourselves in this way not because we feel put upon or ill-used - on the contrary. We choose to be mirthful and filled with joy because of our high calling in Christ Jesus. We don’t shrink back because of the times, nor are we consumed with despair. We stand as servants of Christ, ready to pursue the mission of God. We esteem beauty, goodness, and truth and stand as one to push back against the encroaching darkness.
The Emarginati is a brotherhood – a tribe – of men united together under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
We commit together to:
· Worship joyfully
· Speak truthfully
· Lead courageously
· Accept responsibility
· Resist tyranny
· Pursue community
We identify as a tribe – a band of brothers – not just another prayer group or Bible study. We commit our lives to Christ, but also to one another as we seek to work together for our mutual good, as well the good of our families and church communities. We affirm our worth as men to God, and our masculinity as a gift from Him.
